WATERSPORTS

Welcome back, we really have missed you!

We want to extend a warm welcome to all of our guests new and old, since we have been closed we have introduced a number of different measures to ensure you have a fun and safe environment to enjoy the water on your return. During Phase 1 of returning to water we are only offering a limited number of people onto the water at any given time and have had to reduce the hire offering as well. This is all controlled and managed by our online booking system, therefore it is paramount that all activities are pre-booked to avoid disappointment on the day.

To help you get back out onto the water we have streamlined our hire offering to ensure we can provide you with the same exceptional service and clean the equipment following the manufacturer guidelines between use. From Friday 17th July 2020 we will offer three, two hour blocks of hire per day with sessions starting at 9.30am, 11.45am and 2pm, you will have the opportunity to Canoe - or Kayak (sit on top) -  or SUP (stand up paddleboard).STOP PRESS! Due to the popularity of hire sessions since we have relaunched we have now made an extra evening session available between 4.15pm and 6.15pm on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays!! We have also taken delivery this summer of a new fleet of Pedal Boards - these are great fun, providing extra stability and speed and due to their popularity are available in 1 hour sessions only.  To book a session please click the 'Book Now' button below.

Llandegfedd Watersports Centre specialises in tuition and watersports equipment hire, offering one of the best sailing experiences South Wales has to offer.

Does this float your boat? Preview some of our watersports activities below.

Enjoy the thrill of the open water in a variety of ways at Llandegfedd. We provide land and water based activities, team-building, windsurfing, dinghy sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, raft building, Accessible sailing, equipment hire and environmental studies.

The main advantages of sailing at Llandegfedd is that the reservoir offers clean, deep water with no weed issues. It's convenient to major population centres like Cardiff and Newport, yet we offer a peaceful and rural environment. And best of all... no currents or tides!

Llandegfedd Reservoir is located in the heart of beautiful countryside spanning the border of Monmouthshire and Torfaen in South Wales. It forms a 434 acre lake, which is 1.5 miles long and 1 mile wide at the widest point. The entire site has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its richness in wildlife.

All our programmes are organised around the requirements of each group, which can include a combination of fun activities or courses to achieve National Governing Body qualifications. Llandegfedd Watersports is a fully recognised Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Teaching Establishment, a fully accredited British Stand Up Paddleboard Association (BSUPA) centre, holds the British Canoing (BC) Quality Mark and is also licenced by the Adventure Activities Licencing Authority (AALA). All Instructors are fully qualified in their respective watersport disciplines.

We offer a full multi-activity watersports programme during school holidays for children (aged 8+) and young people in sailing, windsurfing, SUP, canoeing and kayaking.

If you have your own equipment and wish to Canoe, Sail, Sit-on-to Kayak or Windsurf at Llandegfedd we have a range of 'pay and play' permits available.  Please click here for the rules and regulations relating to this activity.
